Vilamoura is conveniently located just a 30 minute drive from Faro airport and within easy reach of the many interesting attractions and places to visit in the Algarve. The ideal all year round climate makes Vilamoura the perfect destination at any time of the year.

Wonderful beaches, beautiful garden areas, colourful local markets, an endless list of leisure and sporting activities, vast green areas, natural reserves, 1000 berth Marina not to mention  first class golf courses totalling 5 altogether.

Vilamoura accommodation is divided into 4 sections. 

Marina

Only apartments and hotels, all within walking distance of the marina shops, restaurants and beach.  The atmosphere in the summer is sophisticated, fun and full of buzz.  

Old Village & Solar do Golfe

Again mostly apartments with a few town houses and villas.  The Old Village has a few restaurants, coffee bars, and a supermarket.  There are three pools in the Old Village itself.  Solar do Golfe is a less busy complex with lovely grounds and two pools.  Apartments are spacious and all have balconies or terraces.  Ground floor units with small private gardens.  The Marina is a fifteen minutes walk and the beach twenty to twenty-five minutes.  During the summer months, there are different trains going through the area every hour for passengers to the Marina and beach.

Colinas do Golf

Apartments overlooking the golf courses.  They all have communal swimming pools and gardens.  A car is a must.  You cannot walk to the Marina although the beach is probably 25 minutes as the crow flies.

The Rest

Villas and apartments at positions all over Vilamoura.  A car is an essential although some villas are within walking distance to restaurants, bars and supermarkets.  Almost all our villas have a private swimming pool and some with air-conditioning.

With a car or by taxi, you can visit the towns close by – Loule, Quarteira, Faro etc.  There are two big shopping centres, one in Faro (Forum Shopping) and one just before Guia (Algarve Shopping). Both of these centres have cinemas showing all the latest films in English. Algarve Shopping has a bowling alley.

We will also recommend from personal experience, good restaurants to visit. There are lots of little local restaurants, selling real Portuguese food at reasonable prices.

Loule

Loule is a Portuguese market town with local shops as well as several big supermarkets.  It also has a traditional fruit and fish market open every day.  Saturday hosts the local gipsy market which is full of stalls selling local crafts, products, souvenirs etc.
 

Quarteira

This is a local Portuguese seaside town adjacent to Vilamoura, with local shops, a superb fresh fish, fruit & vegetable market open every day. Wednesday hosts the local gypsy market and the small traders fruit, veg etc.   Quarteira  has excellent local restaurants. The beach front promenade is a great place for families during the summer months. Always plenty going on and most of it is closed to traffic.
